The Party Bag Edit

The Party season is the perfect time to crack out the sequins and go luxe with your accessories. Think sumptuous velvet, dazzling gold and all of the sparkle. Basically, as we hurtle towards Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve, anything goes when it comes to your bag. Want to carry a clutch covered in sequins? Of course. Are metallics your new best friend? Naturally. Or can you not get past a pearl-encrusted shoulder bag? Well why should you?

Whether you have cash to splash at the designer end of the market or you’re looking for a high street hero to see you through the next couple of months, then I’ve got all bases covered.

Here’s my Party Bags edit:

High End

Party bags

We’re talking jewel tones, mega luxe, gorgeous velvets you just want to rub against your face (but please don’t, because makeup). I love the drawstring vibes of the bucket bags above when teamed with perenial party classic fabrics like velvet and sequins. If you prefer a more structured bag then head to Mulberry as they have some gorgeous gold in their new collection. I think my favourite of the bags above is the No. 21 Knot satin-trimmed green velvet bag (bottom). Absolutely glorious, and the bottle green is a nice break from black.

High Street

High Street Party Bags

If money is too tight to mention with all that present buying (welcome to my life) then the high street has some brilliant options when it comes to party bags. Zara come up trumps with a simple black round clutch while the ruby red velvet grab bag (available on Etsy, so not strictly high street I know), looks much more expensive than it is. Pearls, glitter and sequins all feature here, and Charles and Keith’s offering (top) is absolutely stunning. Go forth and celebrate!

So have any of these party bags made your antennae prick up? I hope you like the selection, and please let me know what bag will be taking you through this party season in the comments.
