A Bag-lover’s Christmas gift guide

Ho, ho, ho! Yes, Christmas is just over a month away and it’s time to start thinking about those all important presents. If you’ve got a bag lover in your life (or even a small accessories fiend) then hopefully this post will pull together a few ideas of what to buy for them this yuletide.

Or you could just treat yourself after a hard day’s shopping for everyone else. There’s no judgement here.

Under £50

Katie Loxton Perfect Pouch – £16.99

I love these pouches. They come in so many colours and each has a witty phrase emblazoned on it. My favourite is the burgundy ‘Arm Candy’ or the silver metallic ‘In the Bag’ (pictured below). So useful in so many ways – travel, makeup, just organising all the bits in your bag or even as a clutch in its own right – these make a great gift.

Liberty London Twillys – £15.00 each

Perfect for a Mulberry fan – or someone who wants to snazz up an existing bag with something gorgeous and tactile, these Liberty London fabric twillys made by Love Lolo Accessories add a hint of luxury at a great price. Wrap them around a bag’s handles or tie them in a bow, they add a very stylish touch. When compared with the price of a Hermes Twilly (£125!) these are a steal. Choose from a range of patterns and colours.

Aspinal of London Compact Mirror – £50.00

If you’re not buying a bag for your bag-loving friend/family member/significant other, then why not something fabulous to go in one they already have? Like this stunning compact mirror by perennial favourites Aspinal of London. I love the bright red (it’s the colour of the season) but it’s classic and definitely won’t go out of style. (They are available in several other shades if red just isn’t their thing).Aspinal of London Compact Mirror

Cath Kidston Flower Leopard Overnight Bag – £45.00

I’m not usually that big a Cath Kidston fan if I’m honest as I find their stuff a bit *chintzy* (but each to their own). HOWEVER, the leopard flower range is rather fab AND as we all know, leopard is officially a neutral now. I really like this foldaway overnight bag folds into small pouch – magic. There’s also purses, backpacks and changing bags to name but a few things in the range if an overnight bag isn’t you, er, bag.

Add some glitter and sparkle to your loved one’s life with this glitter bag from Puptart London. No wallflowers here, this bag comes with either a shoulder or wrist strap – it’s your choice – and will work just as well for weddings, parties, nights out and NYE. It’s an absolute bargain too.

& Other Stories Golden Lock leather bag – £89

This season’s colour? Tick. Looks a lot more expensive than it is? Tick. Great for night and day? Tick. This red leather bag by & Other Stories is a sure-fire hit.

Fablou Chelsea bag -£65

Cruelty free silicone bags which tick the minimalist style box. These bags don’t stain, scratch or scuff and are also waterproof. I love it in this soft grey ‘Frappuccino’. Perfect in any weather and something a bit different.

Mulberry Credit Card slip – £100

Again, this is something to go in your bag, but who’s complaining when it’s a classy credit card slip by Mulberry. These are available in nine different colours but I can’t get past this gorgeous Oxblood.

Anthropologie Assouline Star Embroidered Velvet Clutch – £78.00

You had me at silver-grey velvet, but add a beautifully delicate star embroidery which look like constellations and you’ve got one stunning bag. This clutch has a slim chain so you can also carry it over your shoulder making it the perfect evening bag.

Love Moschino Gold Quilted nag – £92.00 (was £154.00)

This gold faux leather shoulder/crossbody bag by Franco Moschino’s diffusion line encapsulates the party season. I really like the quilted design and the soft gold colour will work for day and night making this a real allrounder.Love Moschino Gold Quilted Bag

Boden ‘Lyon’ Crossbody Bag -£110

Big enough to hold all your essentials (or the perfect size if you’re a small handbag fan like me), this Boden crossbody ticks both stylish and classic boxes. I love the punchy orange zip pulls against the leopard print – and it’s also available in hot pink leopard too. It’s the style of a camera bag without the price tag of the top end designers. Snap it up.Boden Lyon Crossbody Bag

DeMellier London’s Perfect Navy crossbody – £225

This delicious crossbody crafted from soft calf leather is a stylish, go-anywhere handsfree bag, not too big, not too small and in the perfect navy. DeMellier bags also come with complimentary monogramming for that personal touch – exactly what you need to finish off that perfect Christmas gift.

Hill & Friends Happy Tweency Bag – from £395

If you’re really pushing the boat out and want something that’s high quality, gorgeous and that little bit quirky (but not too much) then check out Hill & Friends Happy Tweency chain bags. Small, perfectly formed and surprisingly roomy, these bags can be worn crossbody or as a shoulder bag (the chain can be changed to two different lengths in a couple of seconds). Unlike many other brands you won’t see them everywhere and the quality is second to none. I have one in black and I am eyeing this Cookie Dough shade – it will go with everything.

As for me? Well I’ve already had my Christmas present from my husband. In fact, I’ve been wearing it for months, which is great really as it’s the best coat I’ve ever owned and it’s been a brilliant pop of colour this autumn. He did VERY well. If you would like to check it out, head here.

So what’s on your wish list and do you like my choices? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Happy Christmas shopping!
