Hill & Friends Happy Tweency Chain bag

Hill and Friends Happy Tweency Chain in Liquorice Black with pale gold hardware

Last week I chatted about how hard it feels to shake up my handbag collection and move a bag on to make way for another. This is the bag which was causing all of the fuss.

Introducing my gorgeous Hill and Friends Happy Tweency Chain bag in Liquorice Black grainy calf leather with pale gold hardware. Isn’t it a beauty?

I had been obsessing about this bag FOR WEEKS (a sure fire sign it had to be mine) and when I found a new and unused one for sale at Grace & Ted, a designer fashion consignment boutique, I jumped at the chance. Exit one unloved bag via eBay, enter this stunning piece.

Apologies for the awkward ‘modelling’ shot. I’m not a model and am not at ease in front of the camera, hence the headless vibe.

Anyway, I love this bag. It’s so lovely to hold. The leather is tactile and soft to touch. The chain is heavier than I expected (not that it’s a problem when I’m carrying or wearing the bag) but I love the leather running through it and how it’s so easy to change from a shoulder bag to a crossbody.

Hill and Friends’ signature ‘winky’ fastening is easy to use and looks great and there’s more space than I thought there would be in the bag due to it’s width. It might be dinky but I can fit more into it than my stiff and structured (and larger) Cambridge Satchel.

Despite being a small bag it feels sturdy, although I don’t think I’m going to use the small internal slip pocket so not to force it out of shape.

The colour and style of this bag means it’s great for both day and night and as it’s in a classic colour it will go with everything. When I was looking at my bag collection I realised I only had one other black bag – a supersoft lamb leather shoulder bag – so this one from Hill & Friends really does fill a gap.

I’m all about crossbody bags now as being handsfree with a marauding toddler is a must, which is the main reason why I went for the Tweency over the slightly larger Happy Chain bag – which is a shoulder bag.

The way the Tweency sits on my hip is perfect. The chain is at exactly the right length to make it comfortable to wear. I can’t recommend this bag enough. It’s my first Hill & Friends bag but it’s unlikely to be my last. Amazing quality, gorgeous soft leather, quality hardware and a black suede lining. If you get chance to look at one in real life then do, you will be impressed.

Are you a fan of Hill & Friends? I would love to hear about any bags you have from their collection… *lines up next purchase*
